I am not one for inspirational quotes
I like to apply Paris’ motto to everything in life –“Fluctuat Nec Mergitur”: “Tossed but not sunk”. Fail until it’s perfect. When I am not using Outlook or PowerPoint, you’ll probably find me taking pictures of strangers on the streets of Tokyo.
All I need is experience
My point of creative is to make the world better place to live for everyone. Make people do good things to others, creatures and nature on our mother planet. I love movies and books, I always get moved by great stories. Appreciate great art that makes me think to be inspired and better human.
Absorb knowledge. Expand my field of vision.
No matter what the circumstances I try to accept any kind of opportunity and retain flexibility.
I believe people learn and develop from their own experiences. So we should learn to experience more.
To study and not think is a waste. To think and not study is dangerous.
I love people working here, since they’re passionate and positive. So every day I’m always inspired and motivated by talking with them.
Furthermore, lots of wonderful things everywhere in Tokyo. When I’m down and I’m blue all I have to do is just walk. Sometimes I close my eyes, draw a long breath, listen to surroundings, and the world is new.
Knock and the door will be opened to you; or maybe just dust comes out (no harm anyway).
What makes Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra stand out is the fact that while all the members are world-class soloists individually they can multiply the power by their perfect orchestration as a whole team.
15 sumo wrestlers cannot make a strong rugby team unless they learn how to do a team play. Even if they are very close friends 5 kids in a kindergarten cannot sing like Jackson 5 unless each receives good voice training.
Without a sense of humor, you don't have much sense at all.
Expanding the boundary of imagination is crucial for my life. To do that, I do it through the following precious moments:
– Share knowledge and fun with the people surrounding me
– Use drawing paper for idea flesh
– Learn the spirit of tea every weekend
– Read lots of manga
Life is a comedy
Charlie Chaplin said “Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy in long-shot”. I hope life will be a comedy even if it’s in close-up.
I love watching manzai (Japanese style stand-up comedy), funny movies (“Galaxy Quest” is my all-time favorite), making jokes, making fun of meerkat.., all the things that make me laugh.
I also love “advertising” and have been writing a blog named “Koukoku no Ana” which seeks for brilliant ideas.
I’m a normal woman that wants to be weird
“In fifteen minutes everybody will be famous.”
Is an Andy Warhol quote that I like. I respect Andy Warhol and Curtis Kulig.
I like people saying that I’m weird. But I guess I’m just a normal woman.
Dancing, drawing, and traveling are my favorite pastimes.
But not alone.
Everything that makes me is with other people
All the people surrounding me makes my ordinary life more attractive.
IF YOU WANT IT, WORK FOR IT
Even if “Plan A” didn’t work, the alphabet still has 25 more letters! The more complex business problems are, the more I like to tackle. When I want to clear out my mind, I simply go travelling. It always brings balance to my work and life 🙂
Betray in a GOOD way
The Walk. The Walk. The Walk.
Visit various places.
Visit various people.
I walk intently.
We need hope in absurdity of life
Inside office: I need red in black! That’s BBDO.
Outside office: I love drinking and enjoy playing tennis in on my days off.
I want change.
I like things to change. I’m committed to experiencing new things in order to change.
Experiencing is different to add to my knowledge. They somehow attach themselves to the spirit within.
In most cases, the actual experience is different from what you imagine. How you see, how you hear and how you think changes.
As one of those new experiences, I wanted to buy my wife a Tabla (a north indian drum). She said “No”!
There is always a reason for everything that happens.
I always find inspiration when seeing interesting things, spending time with my family, reading books, playing baseball and running.
Love the life you live. Live the life you love. Bob Marley
What I love about my work is that I’m constantly meeting new people and that we’re always creating a new value to the world. I can’t help but be inspired by all the unique people I meet in the industry and it’s definitely my power engine. On weekends, I’m a cheer-dancer for a professional basketball team in Tokyo. California-raised, cat lover, coffee addict, fitness freak. And madly in love with the energy from the sports entertainment; whether it be basketball, football, or any types of sports!
Stay hungry. Stay foolish.
What I love about my work is that I am able to work with creative and inspirational people who are craving to change the world. Also, because I am in an international ad agency in Tokyo, I enjoy working with people from different cultural backgrounds. Some other things I love are jam sessions (guitar, bass, drums… I’d play anything!), hunting cap, and super chilled “Dassai” (Japanese Sake).
I'm NOT just a positive but a dream idealist.
I love visiting new places, meeting new people, trying new things. Some people say I’m too talkative. But I just want to share feelings and experiences together, smiling with somebody in any situation.
Instead of a cup of coffee on weekday, a bottle of wine is always in my hand at the weekend. Well… It sounds I’m a tippler, but I’m always putting all my mind and heart into work and personal time.
Life is like playing a viola solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on. Samuel Butler
There are so many good & beautiful things to see, listen and taste in this world and it is a pleasure if I can share them with other people by words or images; when not working, major part of my time and passion is spent on books, music and sitting in a cafe.
According to The Boss
Bruce Springsteen wrote that you could learn more from a three minute record than you could ever learn in school. And who are we to argue with him.
Life is there to be enjoyed
I have lived overseas for more than 10 years in my life but home is where my heart is always. I love Yokohama! Though I am happy being settled here in Japan now, I still do enjoy travelling, and recently I find taking short trips within the country is especially a great way to refresh. I also do love good food, and love the “idea of cooking”.
Nothing is either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
The best part of this job is linking life inside and out the office.
I work hard as well as I do my 1 hour workout hard, or bake and cook hard, or run to the premiere of Spectre hard.
Sometimes working hard pays off, and sometimes it doesn’t. But it is OK as working hard on one side of life makes the other side better and deeper.
And no matter how I try, I am a good baker but not a good cook at all!
Sleep is better than medicine
I love blue sky, crystal, big trees and the moon. But what I love most is my “fukafuka (fluffy) futon”. Sleep is a stress reliever for me.
Wherever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision.
“Advertising makes our life richer”, when I joined the adverting agency my senior associate told me this phrase. I still have trust in this. I love the moment when our idea makes a movement in our life; that’s why I’m here.
To create an idea – sometimes that is tough, but playing football, snowboarding, golf, guitar and of course having a beer gives me a break and inspiration!
The fun begins when the road ends
Always up for a healthy dose of adrenalin, dirt and the relatively unknown.
Because the best routes in life are often the ones unmarked and untaken.
Giving it my best every moment of my life
I have narrowly escaped death three times.
The first time was on a boat, the boat turned over and the hull fell on me.
The second time I was riding on a motorbike, I was thrown to the opposite lane and a car plunged at me.
The third time was while diving, the air supply suddenly stopped.
Every time I returned safely, I swear to do my best throughout my life as I am satisfied with my life.
However, this pledge weakens a little every time every time.
Life can be a bit difficult.
In other words “Fly me to the moon”, by Bart Howard
The famous song says “Poets often use many words to say a simple thing”,
I say it’s not just for poets.
“I love you” becomes “ Fill my heart with song, and let me sing forever more” in a song, also becomes “The moon is blue, isn’t it?” in the story of Soseki Natsume.
I think neither is the correct answer for everyone, but can be the right answer for someone, it’s only up to whom and how I talk to.
Maybe that’s why wondering in the forest of the words gives me the endless fun, I will never get bored with.
We all have a role to play in this stage called “Life”. But we also have a time limit. So if a great role comes, stick with it.
42.195k is like life.
Every time I run full marathon, when I pass 1k, I remember when I was 1year old.
Now is the 28k, is like middle point of the way, should have some food and prepare for 35K (35k is most hard point in full marathon…)
Every person has a different way, we don’t have enough time to see the other person’s way. I go my way and enjoy my life and also want to share the happiness with the people around me.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. The Optimist Creed
I’m a big fan of baseball, because it’s all about the power of teamwork.
Actually, it is applied to the agency business as well. When we work together toward a common vision, the power of each individual becomes much stronger.
Love the life you live. Live the love you like Bob Marley
Christine, a Taiwanese girl started her life journey in Japan 6 years ago, has just graduated from college this March. She had various experience doing interships during her student life such as marketing intern in insurance company and education intern in AR ad agency. She now joins BBDO Japan’s high-performing account team to build up her career .
It is less important what one has than what one does with what one has. Everybody can do everything Alfred Adler
I was a hurdler and high-jumper when I was a student.
My motto is running forward and jumping higher than yesterday to see a new view everyday.
As a creator being, I would like to keep on expressing my thoughts and ideas instead of shutting my mouth :)
“The world is so huge that people are always getting lost in it. There are too many ideas and things and people too many directions to go. I was starting to believe that the reason it matters to care passionately about something is that it whittles the world down to a more manageable size. It makes the world seem not huge and empty but full of possibility.” -Susan Orlean
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas Edison
I love trying out new things and I’m not afraid of making mistakes. My goal is to become a truly creative person, who can generate values even from setbacks and adversities. Just like an airplane gaining lift from the air resistance against its wings, I wanna fly high and in some way help others to do the same. I love working here, because I can meet many creative and high spirited-people!
I have a dream. Martin Luther King Jr.
My interest changes time to time. But right now, I like trying out various printing methods, such as blue print, ziatype, letterpress print, etc…
What’s so interesting about printing is that I never know how it turns out!
Everything happens for a reason.

THE MORE LIFE HAS TO OFFER, THE BETTER I LIVE.
…In addition to these 5 things I just cannot live without:
– Pasta of Any Kind
– Dental Floss
Don't worry about failures, worry about the chances you miss when you don't even try. Jack Canfield
Born in Hokkaido, spent my youth in New Zealand, working in Tokyo at the moment.
I like playing League of Legends, watching baseball, eating, travelling, exercise and other fun stuff.
Life is short, enjoy, try new things and see what happens.
Hitch your wagon to a star. Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen. Ralph Waldo Emerson
I’m a dreamer. I’m always curious about new things and new possibilities, and wonder if there are better tools to use.
