Consumers are changing and what used to work before may no longer be the case, which means traditional tactics may not generate the same results. The changes in consumers’ behavior with regard to how they consume media, how they experience the brands and how they shop and ultimately purchase, give both client and agency the opportunity to take advantage of these changes and become the first to leverage it to our benefit.
Our role for clients is to be the Change Agent that brands needed in order to succeed. Consumer behavior has been changing rapidly, which has resulted in brands taking a good look at their business to see if there are gaps in their marketing efforts – from manufacturing or service value chains, to R&D, to merchandising and CRM. BBDO sought to position itself as the best brand and creative agency in Japan, an agency that can assist brands in transforming their current communications model into something more seamless and agile, disseminating meaningful and memorable messages across multiple channels and platforms, delivered to the right people and the right time, with more creativity than ever before. We positioned ourselves as the lead integrator to be the change agent, to plan and lead collaboration across the client’s functions and different agencies.
Another big task for us is Delivering New, Innovative Solutions. Transforming communication models can often expose the need to realign existing functions and at the same time indicate the functions lacking. We decided to invest in critical functions, such as e-commerce, social relationship, retail service, and production studio, to boost our own in-house capability in order to optimize communications and create opportunities for our own business.

Awards attract the best talent and here at BBDO Japan we want to have an unfair share of the best talent.
